Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study.

There are many apprenticeships in lots of industries, One Gloucestershire offer careers and apprenticeships in health and social care. There are many ways to get started in health and care. There are some roles that you can apply for where you do not have to have previous experience or qualifications, while others may require you to complete an apprenticeship or a degree.

As an apprentice you will:

  • be an employee earning a wage and getting holiday pay
  • work alongside experienced staff
  • gain job-specific skills and a qualification
  • get time for training and study related to your role (at least 6hrs of your normal working hours)

Apprenticeships take 1 to 5 years to complete depending on their level.
